Three Unfortunate Mistakes that Cause the Law of Attraction to Work Against You

Monday, January 16th, 2012

Have you tried the Law of Attraction and fallen short of the results you wanted? With the best intentions, most people unknowingly get the Law of Attraction working against them. Solving this problem generally requires a new way of thinking, which is the secret for transitioning from losing to winning with the Law of Attraction.

The Three Deadly Blunders and How to Solve Them by Thinking Success

1. Establishing a goal that’s too big. This can set you up for failure. Your goals need to be big enough to excite you, and modest enough to be believable. For instance, if you decide on a goal to be a multi-millionaire and you don’t believe you can make it happen, you most likely will start to find yourself thinking about it not happening and this is exactly what you’ll get.

Remedy: With your ultimate goal in the back of your mind, focus your attention on an intermediate goal that you can believe is possible. Maybe you could aspire to increase your income by 5 or 10% each month by building a home business with the ultimate goal of achieving financial freedom. Once you reach your short term goal, you can step it up another notch.

2. Focusing on things that aren’t working right now. Maybe you hope to be financially free because you’re not happy with your current situation. Focusing on feeling bad is a clear way to experience even more of it.

Remedy: Think about what you DO want. To draw on the last example, think as often as you can about increasing your income by 5 or 10% with a home business. Notice when you are off track and course correct as fast as possible. “I’m happy to have a steady job as a stepping stone to an awesome future.”

3. Failing to Take action. A goal with no action is just a pie in the sky. It’s surprising how many people hope that someone is going to come along and save them. While this is a nice dream, it isn’t a replacement for taking action. The natural result of setting a goal that motivates you feels doable is feeling inspired to take action, a willingness to pay the price for achieving your goal.

Remedy: Enlist the will to step outside your comfort zone and do whatever it takes to make your dreams come true. You’re worth it, no matter what anyone else might say. As the saying goes, feel the fear and do it anyway.

Putting the Law of Attraction to Work FOR You

According to Earl Nightingale, you become what you think about most of the time.

Once you set a goal that you can believe, think regularly about it happening, and take inspired action, you are on your way. You have tapped into the essence of success thinking.

The next essential element is to watch for opportunities. The way you will reach your goal may not be at all what you think, so you have to have an open mind. Watch for something unexpected and new that will get you going in a positive direction. When you shift from focusing on failure to thinking about success, virtually anything is possible!
