The Ideal Way To Accept Your Destiny In Life

Tuesday, February 28th, 2012

Who among you would like to get old? I bet no one does, right? A lot of us, especially women want to stay young as they could be. Women are much more health conscious than men are. If they reach the age of 30 above, they became insecure of what their look may be. They desire their body to remain firm, as it was when they were still in their younger years. Some women would also proceed through plastic surgeries just for them to look and feel beautiful and young.

You can see, the majority of people within the middle ages and older wants to stay young. But, can we really stop what on earth is destined to happen to us? Let us just accept the reality that we, as human, will end up old and very soon will die. The Majority Of People are afraid with this reality. But what else could we do? This is life. This is not permanent that is why it is very important to simply accept everything that may happen to us and that we must cherish every moment of our life. We can’t turn back the time.

But then, those individuals who wishes to stay young are not to be blame at all. If your young, you could do anything that you like to because your body is still capable of doing so. You aren’t getting sick that easily, still you can walk fast and you still can go on an adventure without getting your body hurt that easily. When you’re old there’d be a lots of restriction for you, you’ll feel lots of pain in your body and maybe you’ll take plenty of medicines. It is a thing that we do not want to happen, right?

We have to accept the reality of life. It is where life is taking us. To ACCEPT the truth will be a means for us to still become happy though we are already aging. Let us just accept the things that may happen to us. Getting old is a part of our life and it doesn’t mean we simply cannot feel contentment in life.

Michael j. gelb had an article about aging and also on how people would improve their minds, as they get older. According to him, the most effective technique to help yourself accept the reality of life is by serenity prayer.

The prayer for serenity can be a manner in which can help people who are growing old. So they can accept where life would bring them as well as for them to become encourage that they still deserve to become happy and contented while they’re already aging. It’s a way to help them to accept every changes in their lifestyle and also in their body. By doing this, they’re letting the divine consciousness flow in their mind and body to experience a peaceful life with God, who would help them to guide their life as they get old.

How Should We Listen To God?

Tuesday, February 28th, 2012

“God still is speaking, but are we listening?”

I will ask you to read and think about that question. Don’t you think that maybe true? It’s actually true! Definitely God is still speaking. But, do we listen? Or do we be aware that it was actually God talking to us?

That’s the title of an article I’ve read recently. Then, I came to be thinking about reading it since I do believe that everyone should ask that question to themselves. God exists; we simply should open our minds and our hearts. He’s watching over us every single day. He guides our life path if we simply put our faith and trust to Him.

This article was about a guy named John Coleman. It’s about his experience as he moved to New York City. He experienced a lot in his stay there. Since we live in a busy world today, I guess what John experienced is just common to everybody. It’s such a noisy environment that you’d become irritable sometimes and also you probably possess a stressful life.

John said, “The noise that seems jumbled and senseless sometimes begins to develop meaning and order after a period of listening. We begin to pick out the sound that is important and filter out the rest, but it takes time.”

Because of what he experienced with the city, he had the chance of hearing God’s voice. You will notice that in order to know from where the sound or voice came from, you need to be aware and familiar about it. We experience sometimes that people became acquainted with the noise we hear everywhere, even voices of those people from outside our home as well as their footsteps. You will be acquainted with the surroundings if you know yourself where’s that voice originating from. It might take us a long time to determine all of the voice we hear, but over time we would know about it. This can be meaningful for you, as what John Coleman is wanting to say.

This scene is similar with Samuel’s experience in hearing God’s voice. In the beginning, he thought it was priest Eli calling him, but it was God; and that he continues to listen to the voice.

The point hear is that, I simply want to share to you about the experience on hearing God’s voice. Because we’re living in a busy world, we can’t recognize that God is actually talking to us. However, all of us had chance in hearing God’s voice. We just have to put our trust to God. I assume, hearing is quite different with listening. In order to hear God’s voice, we need to lend our ears and listen to Him carefully. God is definitely talking to us every day in our lives. It only depends on us on how we would like to experience hearing God’s voice.

Hearing God’s Voice Changes Our Life

Monday, February 27th, 2012

Have you experience hearing the voice of God? What did you feel then? Many individuals are denying that they can heard the voice of God. Are you certain about that? We’re actually hearing the voice of God but we are just not aware of it. Once you hear from God, His voice would touch our hearts and souls to let us feel he is ever present for all of us. Thus, His voice flow within us and would let us feel His presence always.

We believed that only those good people could hear the voice of God. But I think they are wrong. However, we must be cautious that we are all humans. Thus God loves us equally. We had opportunity to live here on this planet to experience the wonderful creations God has created for all of us and therefore we now have the freedom to live with our own decisions in life. We have our very own responsibility to handle our very own lives.

I do have read a short article about a girl who had been lucky to hear the voice of God. She truly believe that’s God actually talking to her. Thus, she put her trust to Him. This woman named Brown is actually imprisoned because she had criminal charges of killing a lady named Elnora Riley. This is why it’s amazing to know she could hear the Voice of God.

Brown did hide what she did to Riley. For sixteen years, she lived a life filled with misery. One day, Odessa was able to hear a voice saying, “It’s time”

She immediately feel that was God. After that moment on, she made a move to reveal what she is hiding for years. Because she made a decision to tell the truth, she managed to change her entire life. Odessa made a good decision which would be to reveal the truth.

She ended up being totally free of the sin she continued hiding for how many years.

Eventually, we aren’t seeing God using our naked eyes but we can actually feel His presence in our hearts. He is indeed within our lives.

He is watching over us in exactly what we all do. If you believe in God, you are actually giving your own chance to hear his voice to help your path towards glorifying his name. Just hear what God is wanting to express and by that, you’ll know regarding your purpose of existence here on the planet.

Having Spiritual Disciplines In Life

Sunday, February 26th, 2012

I want to inform you about my New Year’s resolution in the year 2012. I’m still not matured enough however I have already experienced trials and difficulties in life. I realize how early God let me experience all of these things.

I’m wondering, “What is God’s reason that He let me feel all these pain in life?” I thought I was into bad karma, realizing that I also have mistakes I’ve done in my life. But I really think this can be way too much already. Base on my age, I would not be experiencing these complications.

Last December of 2011, I came to a degree of listing my new year’s resolution. I’m thinking none of the things I wrote was achievable. I made a decision to change what I wrote. To change myself was the main New Year’s resolution I’ve thought. But, How? I believed this is still not achievable.

Until it came a time I’ve realized something extremely important, that would help myself change into better. That is to have spiritual discipline in life. In this way, I will become a person filled with love, peace and those great things in life. I do believe that will be the start of changing myself into a better person. I am certain I’m able to handle problems now having spiritual discipline within me. This can cure all the agony I felt.

I am a individual who always pray in the evening; thanking God, asking forgiveness and asking blessings for my family and also to every one of the people I’ve met.

However, I do believe praying alone isn’t enough for me to improve my spiritual discipline in life. For my New Year resolution, I have to go to church regularly, to attend prayer groups, to become a good person in serving God and the fellowmen. I know these things will become possible. It really came into my mind which I cannot do all these things with all the temptations in all places.

I’ve read an article about a well-respected person named Douglas Todd. He loves to be with silent groups to develop his character in life. Thus, he attends retreats regularly. In his post, he was telling something about an author named Merton. In his book about New Seeds Of Contemplation, Douglas did emphasize what Merton wrote.

Merton mentioned, “If you have to live in a city and work among machines and ride in the subways and eat in a place where the radio makes you deaf with spurious news and where the food destroys your life and the sentiments of those around you poison your heart with boredom, do not be impatient, but accept it as the love of God and a seed of solitude planted in your soul.”
“Meanwhile,” he wrote, “keep your sense of compassion for the men and women who have forgotten the very concept of solitude. You, at least, know that it exists, and that it is the source of peace and joy. You can still hope for such joy. They do not even hope for it anymore.”

Reflect on what Merton have said. I know his advice will work. By doing those ideas in our life, It will get us closer into spiritual disciplines in life.
